So begins an article at space.com
The fact that you’re confronting this column on a web site devoted to space science and astronomy makes you roughly as rare as technetium. Despite the fact that astronomy is one of the two most popular science subjects in American schools (the other is biology), it’s really not that popular.

The habits and needs of a little-understood group
by Jonathan Rauch
Do you know someone who needs hours alone every day? Who loves quiet conversations about feelings or ideas, and can give a dynamite presentation to a big audience, but seems awkward in groups and maladroit at small talk? Who has to be dragged to parties and then needs the rest of the day to recuperate? Who growls or scowls or grunts or winces when accosted with pleasantries by people who are just trying to be nice?

Hi everyone!
Well, I’ve decided to start over with my blog. I installed a bright shiny new WordPress 2.6 and am ready to become famous. Of course, I guess that means I should have some content worth reading, eh? I’m not one for lots of original essays, but I do like to post things that I find interesting. I hope you will find them interesting too.
By the way, ANYONE can post content on this blog, not just me. All you have to do is register so I can avoid the spammers and ‘bots. Please make yourself known – I’d love to know who was here. And please make suggestions as you see fit. I promise I will pay attention.
