, council liaison This committee is charged with managing the worship life of the church, overseeing the music programs, seeking ways to enhance worship, and providing for special worship opportunities. The members of this committee gather volunteers for the various duties of the worship service such as altar guild, lay assistants, acolytes and crucifers, ushers, and nursery assistants. They also plan special music and manage the chancel choir. This year, the committee organized the purchase of the Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal and is charged with introducing the new settings to the congregation. This is an exciting and challenging task for the congregation; however, the new settings will bring new life and meaning to the worship experience. Evangelism,

council liaison This past year the evangelism committee provided an opportunity for every member of Mt. Pisgah to receive a free handmade Advent wreath with accompanying supplies. The group recruits volunteers to host refreshments each Sunday and to serve as greeters. Their other duties include mailing goody boxes to college students and to military personnel, recognizing visitors, obtaining sponsors for new members, updating the church’s pictorial directory, and serving as liaisons for Via De Cristo and T.E.C. council liaison The Outreach Committee identifies, coordinates, communicates and evaluates opportunities for Christian service in the church and community. Currently the committee sponsors a prison ministry in Alexander County, supports Habitat for Humanity, and coordinates Mt. Pisgah’s food pantry, Hospice, prayer groups, and other outside community activities such as AA, Alanon, and Weight Watchers. Fellowship, Beth Madurski council liaison The dictionary defines fellowship as friendly association and mutual sharing. Our Mt. Pisgah Church is a wonderful example of this definition. Much of the fellowship at Mt. Pisgah happens through the many social activities that are scheduled throughout the year. New member receptions, Lenten and Advent dinners, a Thanksgiving dinner, an annual spring celebration for women and girls of all ages, and a twice yearly church picnic in a park are some of our responsibilities. The kitchen is kept stocked with supplies necessary for all church social activities to run smoothly. Fellowship is a “fun” committee serving in the Mt. Pisgah tradition of fellowship, friendly association and mutual sharing. Youth,

council liaison Encouraging our youth to take part in T.E.C. (Teens Encounter Christ), participating in service projects, leading worship services, and hosting teen events are goals of this ministry. In addition to the more serious aspect of this ministry, the youth have fundraisers, a beach trip, a Halloween Festival, post football game gatherings, youth dances, overnighters, and a host of other fun activities. Finance,

It studies, designs, recommends, and implements ever-changing programs: Vacation Bible School, Sunday School teachers and materials, confirmation, adult Bible studies, preschool, Rally Day, Christmas programs, Kids in Christ, and others. The committee has also sponsored Walk Thru the Bible, presentation of Bibles to children, mentoring youth, and Teacher Appreciation Sunday. This is definitely a busy committee. Stewardship,

They ensure that quarterly statements are distributed, and they follow up on the church’s financial status and giving as needed.
