Panel 6: Mt. Hermon (Matthew 17)

Transfiguration

The first panel on the New Testament side is that of Mt. Hermon. It was here that Jesus showed Himself to be God as He was transfigured before His disciples. Scripture says"...His face shone like the sun." This is reflected here by the monogram for Jesus appearing in front of a sun shape. Such a symbol as light or fire appearing on a mountain top has from the beginning of time suggested the presence of God...even to this day.
