 What a blessed April we had and what an exciting May we have to look forward to together! God is good and life in Christ is exciting! In April, we were blessed with over 420 in Easter worship, 9 first communion children, a wedding, a baptism, and 4 young people confirmed. What a memorable month is was!May is going to be a full, spirit-filled months as well with all sorts of blessings. Speaking of spirit-filled, on May 27th we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, when the Spirit was given to the church. (Be sure to wear red!) It is truly His spirit that inspires us in all that we do. On May 13th we will give thanks to God for our mothers. We have a special service with a message and gifts for all the women of the church! On May 20th, between services, we have a Congregational meeting and our Preschoolers will sing. This Sunday is our traditional God and Country Sunday when we remember those who have and continue to put themselves in harms way so that we might enjoy the freedoms we have today. We honor our military, as we have in the past, with the military services tribute and we will also honor all the firefighters, police officers and EMTs who continually rist their lives for the sake of others. Our guest speaker is former marine Jeff Huggins, who is Kelly Daughtrey's brother. We will have a covered dish reception after the 10:30 service, so bring a dish to share and invite someone from the military, police, firefighters or EMS to share the morning with us.
